Missouri Sewing Machine Company needs to fill some jobs! Here are the three different job openings we have available.

Store Manager

We are looking to train a new store manager. We would like you to be knowledge with computerized sewing machines and embroidery machines, but paid on-the-job training is available. You will be obligated to lift at least 40 pounds, some of these machines are heavy.  You should also be willing to temporarily work at different locations if need be. Some of the things you will do in an ordinary day include:

  • Keeping the sales floor clean and orderly
  • Checking in repairs
  • Demonstrating and selling sewing machines, serger machines, embroidery machines, embroidery software, cover stitch machines, and quilting machines. 
  • Learning and explaining the differences between the machines and their prices.
  • Learning and explaining new machine features
  • Helping customers learn their machine
  • Scheduling and planning machine classes
  • Using a point-of-sale software
  • Creating purchase orders using Microsoft Excel
  • Solving customer problems and addressing them in a professional and courteous manner

 Household Sewing Machine Mechanic

We need people to service and repair household sewing machines. They need to be very mechanically inclined, and be a fast learner. We would like you to have experience with sewing machine or some kind of small appliance repair, but that is NOT a requirement. You will have paid on-the-job training, and work next to some of the best sewing machine mechanics in the world.  You will need to be able to carry in all sorts of different sewing machines. Some of the older machines can weigh up to 30 pounds, so we would like you to be able to lift that weight. Plus you may have to drive our company vehicles from one store to another.  Some of the things you will do in an ordinary day include:

  • Cleaning and Servicing Household sewing machines, sergers, and embroidery machines.
  • Calling customers with estimates and explanations of what is wrong with their machine.
  • Referencing and locating specific parts in parts books.
  • Following instructions in a service manual.
  • Calling and e-mailing customers when their repair is complete.
  • Servicing machines in middle schools, high schools, and colleges.
  • Delivering machines to and from all of our locations.
  • Having proper phone etiquette when answering the phone and talking to customers.
 

Commercial Sewing Machine Mechanic

The job description of commercial sewing machine mechanic is about the same as the household sewing machine mechanic, except for a few things. First, commercial machines are much heavier than household sewing machines. You will have to be able to move and carry sewing machines that can weigh a little heaviers. Plus, there is more driving as a commercial mechanic because you have to travel to our customers' place of business to work.
